Luisa Wakeman is in a rematch with her 2018 opponent, a long-serving incumbent who reliably votes against just about everything Sierra Club cares about. Furthermore, Loisa lost by only 792 votes last time! In 2020, we’re committed to pushing her over the finish line. Luisa wants to fight to clean up the coal ash pit next to the Chattahoochee River. She wants to close the loopholes that allowed ethylene oxide to be released into Cobb County’s air without any warning or protection to the public. She wants to push the Georgia legislators who are sitting on their hands about the climate crisis to get to work. Luisa is reasonable, open minded, smart, and engaging. She’s the kind of leader who could bring people together to make positive change. She’s going to be an effective legislator and a great champion for Sierra Club values. We’re proud to endorse her.
