Submit nominations for the 2020 Volunteer Awards!

The Georgia Chapter’s End of Year Volunteer Awards are our chance to highlight exceptional contributions to the Sierra Club’s work across the state of Georgia. These volunteers have shared their gifts to move the needle with our ongoing work exploring, enjoying, and protecting our most treasured places in Georgia. Join us in recognizing the impressive individuals who continue to use their skills and talents to affect change in their communities and beyond.

We encourage any and all members, supporters, and others connected to our work to submit nominations in one (or all!) of the following categories:

Exceptional Leadership   Exceptional Activism

Youth Leader of the Year   Exceptional Dedication

Volunteer of the Year

Selections: We’d love for you to think outside the box in who you’re choosing to nominate this year. You might consider:

  • Who’s been steadily chipping away at the work while flying under the radar?
  • Who’s joined up with our work recently and come in with a real bang?
  • Is there someone you’ve seen taking on extra responsibilities lately that wouldn’t necessarily see themselves as a leader?

We’re prompting you with these suggestions because special consideration and priority in this year’s selections will be given to new recipients; those who identify with communities traditionally under-represented in the larger environmental movement; and those who are newer to the Sierra Club.

Process: Nominations are due by December 4th, 2020. Then a selections committee of Chapter leaders will make final decisions. Winners will be announced at our virtual End of Year Volunteer Celebration on December 9th, 2020. Click here to RSVP for the event.
