Our group met onsite to visit the USF Forest Reserve which had been proposed for development even though it had a long history of use for student research.  This unique land serves as a valuable teaching and research resource, as well as serving as an important refuge for environmentally sensitive plants and animals. We were led by PhD candidate Christian Brown.  We wanted to learn more about the issues, and after visiting the site were able to support the graduate students who were seeking to have the site preserved.
