WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, in the wake of the Parkland shooting, students across the country are walking out of class to advocate for gun violence prevention.
A new study by scientists from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published today in the American Journal of Public Health found that facilities emitting dangerous particulate air pollution -- like soot -- disproportionately impact low-income communities and communities of color - demonstrating that the reprehensible history of economic injustice and environmental racism regarding air pollution continues in the United States.
WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Department of the Interior has extended the comment period for the public to weigh in on proposed rate hikes. The move comes amidst widespread opposition to the fee increases. At an event this morning, park advocates delivered more than 150,000 comments against the proposal, which would raise entry fees at 17 of the most popular national parks across the country, including Yellowstone, Grand Canyon and Shenandoah.
In the wake of last weekend’s Women’s Marches, activists have announced a major “People’s Climate March” on April 29th in Washington, D.C. and across the country. The effort is being organized by the coalition formed out of 2014’s People’s Climate March, which brought over 400,000 people to the streets of New York City and many more around the world.
