Samara Community School students and THUE students met up for a beautiful fall day in Central Park! After a fun ABC nature scavenger hunt where students tried to find something in nature with every letter of the alphabet, students split up into two groups- one to go geocaching.. or find treasures around Central Park.. and the other to take a tour and learn about the history, from Central Park guide Jen. The geocaching group proved to be successful! They followed the directions and read the hint in order to locate a cylindrical canister with a journal inside, hidden deep in a rock. The group on the tour learned so much- they learned all about the park's history at Wollman Rink, discussed the right to vote while looking at the Women's Monument and celebrated diversity at the Bethesda Terrace! A great day was had by all.
