September 14, 2024: PS 159 students enjoyed a beautiful fall day at NYBG, which is only 1/2 mile from the school.  Many families stayed with their children all day and were so happy to know that there is now a Bronx Partnership Program so they can assess the NYBG grounds whenever they want.  We walked through the family forest and the rose garden, smelling the roses and even spotted a rabbit!  Then we checked out the Mushroom Festival- where we saw tons of varieties of mushrooms and a house made out mushroom (we learned the word mycelium!).  Finally, we checked out all the Alice in Wonderland themed activities- tea, mycelium eggs- and potted plants and made clay insects.  A fun, local trip was had by all!
