3/16/24:  Democracy Prep started the day meeting at the Nature Center, where students learned about the animals in Van Cortlandt park and were able to touch a stick bug! We met up with our Parks Guide, Sara, then headed on a hike to several viewpoints in Van Cortlandt park and tracking animal prints (deer mostly). Sara gave us plenty of info on the park and the foliage, we were able to to spot the poison ivy! Sara gifted us magnifying glasses and pointed us to some logs we could investigate. After which, we had a picnic on the grass, and had a fun, active closing circles lead by our Cat Rock leaders!
