Welcome to the San Antonio Ski Hut
Please note, as a result of the Bridge Fire, the Forest Service has closed the trails approaching the San Antonio Ski Hut through 12/31/25. The Ski Hut remains closed at this time. All Scheduled Weekends are cancelled until further notice.
Built by the Ski Mountaineers in 1936, the San Antonio Ski Hut is located at 8,300' and reached via a steep 3-mile hike and 2200' foot elevation gain. The trailhead starts 1 mile beyond the locked gate of San Antonio Falls Rd. (approx 300 yards past Snowcrest Lodge and 400 yards before the entrance to Mt. Baldy Ski Lifts). The hut offers a fully-equiped kitchen, dishes, cookware, running water and solar lighting. Sleeping room for up to 16 is available. Water from a spring is piped directly through the kitchen, running 24 hours a day. Day Use: $1 Donation; Overnight: Sierra Club Members $15, Non-members $20
Although we try and provide access most weekends, because weather, trail conditions or other circumstances may prevent the opening of the Hut, it is advisable to contact the scheduled Host if you intend to stay overnight. Individual commissary, except for planned weekends. Due to size limitations, large groups by special reservation only. Contact Chair, for more information.
Please obey the following rules: Due to fire regulations in Upper San Antonio Canyon, all cooking is done on the wood stoves inside the Hut (no gas stoves permitted inside or out). USFS rules prohibit open fires of any kind. NO OPEN FIRES. Smoking permitted only outside Hut. No pets allowed in inside. Camping within 200' of the Hut by permission only, and only in established "rock ring" sites. All trash must be packed out.
