From Casie Jones, Sierra Club Alabama Chapter Chair
"A cool weather trail run with my pup. I reflect on the wonderful plant ID placards along the Tashka Trail. A little over a year ago, my beautiful students hand-carpentered/painted, identified, and installed these at Lake Lurleen State Park. Never have I seen students so eager to use binomial nomenclature. Never have I seen students so eager to use post-hole diggers. So grateful for those teachers who stepped out of their comfort zone to share this experience in nature.
Our youth are beautiful people. Our teachers are wonderful, too.
This is what engagement looks like. This is what education should be."
