I’m Jonathon Meeks, your Alabama Chapter Chair as well as the Elections Committee Chair. I’m writing to you today to announce that the Call for Nominations is now open and we are seeking candidates for the four Executive Committee (similar to board of directors) positions that are coming open this year. Democracy is vital part of our organization, and we need YOU to join us on the Alabama Chapter Executive Committee.
Service on the Executive Committee (ExCom for short) of the Sierra Club Alabama Chapter is a rare chance to help drive the decisions of our chapter and shape the future of environmental advocacy in Alabama. The opportunity to work with other leaders in the Alabama Chapter allows you to be part of the decision making process on the state level, driving the strategic goals for the organization. This is a perilous time for environmental issues in Alabama, and throughout the nation. Now, more than ever, we need members to step up and #RunForSomething, to help us map our ambitious future and protect the unique, magnificent, and vulnerable environment of our Alabama, the state we all call home.
Executive Committee service is a chance to grow personally and professionally, to develop skills, gain unique experience and make lasting connections with a team of other passionate and motivated environmental advocates and activists. Won’t you join us to defend Alabama?
