Conservation Success Story: Tear Down that Dam!

The Livingston Dam (located in southwest Alabama) was erected about 40 years ago to support a municipal water source, but was abandoned around 1995. Barriers such as this impede natural water flow for fish and mollusks. Working closely with the City of Livingston and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the dam was removed last month.
