Tennessee Riverkeeper plans on suing Town Creek for violations of the Clean Water Act.
Whiteside, the group's founder says the responsibility isn't just on the Town Creek, it also falls on the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. "In my opinion, they don't do a great job of protecting the environment in the first place. I think they're enabling all of these wastewater treatment plants in Alabama to continue to be in violation of sewage-related problems," says Whiteside. Learn more here.
