Overview
After years of building powerful movements for change, we are at the precipice of something huge: a set of transformative legislation that will advance racial and climate justice and a more livable future for all. President Biden is a key player in getting the Build Back Better Act passed, as well as fixing the filibuster so Congress can pass crucial democracy reform bills and protect our sacred freedom to vote.
Now is an important time to push President Biden to keep fighting and use the power of his office to get these priorities across the finish line. His legacy—and our future—is on the line!
The Build Back Better Act has passed the House, and is now awaiting action in the Senate. From taking bold action on climate to fighting racial and economic injustices to creating millions of jobs, there is no more time to waste! Two democracy reform bills—the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act—are also stalled in the Senate because of the racist and outdated filibuster rule. In order to protect our voices in this democracy, especially those of communities of color whose voting rights are under attack, we must #FixOrNix the filibuster.
There are several ways you can take action to urge President Biden to deliver on these campaign promises. Calls are the most effective, but if you can't get through to the White House comment line, social media posts and tweets tagging @POTUS and submitting the White House online contact us form are also impactful actions.
