Sierra Club Endorses Marlene Shaw for Gulfport City Council

The Suncoast Sierra Club officially announces its endorsement of Marlene Shaw in her race to be elected for Council Member Seat 2 on the Gulfport City Council.

“We are excited to be endorsing Marlene Shaw in her campaign for Seat 2 on the Gulfport City Council,” said Sierra Club spokesperson Pat Fling. “She has an environmental focus in both her personal life and her goals for the city council to influence the city of Gulfport to be more environmentally friendly.”

She is interested in increasing Gulfport’s living shorelines, improving the drainage and sewage systems, removing invasive plants, preserving a threatened preserve, increasing the tree canopy and increasing permeable pavement. She would like to increase solar in Gulfport as well as increasing the EV in the city fleet and EV charging stations. She has participated in numerous cleanup efforts.

Marlene Shaw will bring a fresh perspective to her long-time home of Gulfport and deserves to be elected to the Gulfport City Council.
