Rappahannock Group Sierra Club (RGSC) is one of 12 Sierra Club Groups in Virginia, and is part of the national Sierra Club. We have over 400 members and serve the city of Fredericksburg, Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and Westmoreland Counties. A message from our Outings chair, Geoff Johnson
As the new Outings Leader, I look forward to promoting interest in the protection of our natural surroundings, a core Sierra Club mission. Future Outings will be used to actively promote the appreciation and good stewardship of our environment. These Outings will include group hikes to state and national parks, touring regional power plants, recycling and waste management facilities and learning the history of our surroundings.
The objective of the Outings is to broaden awareness of our environment and promote the conservation and care of these unique resources. Outings are open to the public and are free of charge. I hope to encourage your activism in protecting and enjoying our natural resources.
