The Sierra Club is a national, member-supported environmental organization. It is the largest and oldest such organizations, with Chapters in every state.
As one of four Groups within the Tennessee Chapter of the Sierra Club, the Cherokee Group is based in Chattanooga and represents the counties of Bledsoe, Bradley, Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, Jackson, Hamilton, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, Overton, Polk, Putnam, Rhea, Sequatchie, VanBuren, Warren, and White in Central and Southeast Tennessee. We operate in concert with the National and Tennessee Chapter Sierra Club to tackle important environmental issues.
We are also committed to being a valuable educational and recreational resource for our region's community. Aside from conservation work, we offer year-round outings and monthly informative programs that range from talks by environmental experts to entertaining speakers who have explored our world. All events and outings are free and open to the public.
See the About Us page for more about who we are and what we do.
