If you listen carefully, you might just hear drums, chants, and slogans today. A National Day of Action is taking place in anticipation of the international climate negotiations in Paris this December. We need everyone everywhere to join in and mandate that leaders come up with an effective plan to combat climate change.  Recent announcements from the United States, China, Brazil, and India have demonstrated a growing willingness to negotiate, and today’s show of support will only add to the momentum. Events are being held around the country.

Are you marching in spirit, but stuck in body at home or the office? Here are five ways you can still participate.

1. Take a Selfie

Visit ActInParis.org and submit your photo for our #ActInParis photo petition.

2. Talk to the President

Tell President Obama that you support strong action on climate in Paris. (Call this number: 1-888-201-9377)

3. Get Social

Join a chorus of voices on social media by sharing a message at 12pm EDT in support of bold action on climate change.

4. Watch Sierra Club's new #ActInParis video

Actor Jared Leto narrates a virtual journey to the Arctic to demonstrate why world leaders must act on climate. Once you’ve seen it, share it with others on social media (don't forget to hashtag #ActInParis).

5. Take Part in a Discussion

Are you a college student? Join #SeizetheGrid campuses and @SierraStudent on Twitter at Noon PT / 3pm ET for a live dialogue: How can students and campuses best lead toward 100 percent clean energy nationally and internationally? Tweet questions and comments to @SierraStudent.
