LAS VEGAS, NV - Today, The Sierra Club Nevada PAC announced a new mail campaign in support of progressive candidate Chris Giunchigliani’s campaign in the Democratic primary for Governor of Nevada.
Last Friday, the Sierra Club Nevada PAC sent the first of three mailers to 100,000 Democratic primary voters - a majority of the estimated primary electorate - highlighting Giunchigliani’s strong progressive environmental record. The remaining two mailers will hit mailboxes between today and the June 12 primary election.
“Chris Giunchigliani is exactly the progressive champion Nevada needs to protect our iconic public lands, grow our clean energy economy, and stand up against big polluters, big developers, and Donald Trump,” said Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter Director Brian Beffort.
A lifetime member of the Sierra Club, Giunchigliani stood up to developers to protect public lands and led the fight against building near Red Rock Canyon, as one of only two Clark County commissioners to vote against moving forward with plans for more than 5,000 homes at the edge of that iconic Nevada landscape. The Toiyabe Chapter of the Sierra Club - representing thousands of Sierra Club members across Nevada - endorsed Giunchigliani in May.
