Engaging Our Community Through Environmental Initiatives
Hudson County Sierra Club is involved in a wide range of activities which aim to improve our natural environment:
Conservation: Hudson County boasts the Hudson and Hackensack rivers, along with key parks like Liberty State Park in Jersey City and Lincoln Park in JC. HCSC advocates for more parks and green spaces.
Outings & Events: Organize regular nature walks at local parks and hosts occasional forums on topics like Climate Change and Environmental Justice.
Political Action: Work with the Sierra Club's NJ Chapter to support candidates and officials promoting sustainable development and environmental protection in Hudson County.
Publicity: Communicate with 800+ members through email and social media, focusing on Facebook and Instagram, with the new Social Media team developing innovative strategies for outreach.
Urban Issues: Advocate for sustainable solutions to address critical urban issues such as the implementation of bike lanes, improving mass transit, mitigating noise pollution, and ensuring access to clean drinking water. We collaborate with local stakeholders and policymakers to create a healthier and more livable urban environment for all residents.
