2024 GREEN CRUISE

Saturday, August 10th, 2024

Two Bicycle Rides

8am 41-mile ride to Belle Isle

9am eight-city 22-mile ride to Birmingham

 

Where to meet:

The new start / stop point for both rides is the Ferndale Project (brewery), 567 Livernois, Ferndale, MI 48220

 

Tickets:

Pre-paid tickets are $20 for both rides and will be available soon at https://www.bikereg.com/

Day of event tickets are $25 payable with credit card or cash

 

After-event celebration:

All riders are invited to a free after-event celebration at Ferndale Project from noon to 2 pm. Indoor and outdoor areas have been reserved with a private bartender. No drink tickets are involved; riders who participate pay regular customer rates for beverages.   

 

Waiver signature required:

Note: you will need to sign a Sierra Club waiver the day of the event.

Rain-or-shine

The rides are rain-or-shine; there is no rain date.

 

Pace:

The 8am 41-mile ride has two groups: 17+ mph & 12-16 mph.

  • Please do not join the 17+ mph group if you are not a highly accomplished bicyclist.

  • If you have doubts about riding with the 17+ group, please consult the ride leader BEFORE the ride starts.

Here is the 2023 41-mile route; new links will be available.

Pace:

The 9am 22-mile pace is about 12 mph

 

Have you signed up online for the incorrect ride? Don't worry, simply join the intended ride.

 

The Green Cruise features:

  • Free pre-ride repairs from Sullivan’s Continental Bike Shop

  • Free pre-ride snacks & rest stop snacks

  • Recognition: 2024 Green Cruiser of the Year

  • Competent leadership; no drop ride

 

Free Parking: 

First United Methodist Church of Ferndale, 22331 Woodward Ave (at Leroy) Ferndale, MI 48220, a few blocks from the start. 

There are no parking meter in the area around Project Ferndale.
