Board of Directors Election 2026

Welcome to the 2026 Board of Directors Election hub. Here you'll find information about the election and resources to help you get to know the candidates. We've also included everything you need to know about casting your vote.

Each year, five of the 15 members of the Sierra Club Board of Directors end their three-year term. A list of candidates is selected by a combination of a nominations process and a petition process. Sierra Club members have the opportunity to vote for five candidates to fill the empty seats.

This year’s ballot has seven nominated candidates.

To be eligible to vote, you must have become a Sierra Club Regular or Life Member by January 31, 2025. If you joined Sierra Club less than a year ago, you will be eligible to vote next year.

The annual Sierra Club Board of Directors election is an opportunity for members to have a say in what the future of the Sierra Club looks like. Voting will take only a few moments of your time, but the impact to our organization, our mission, and our planet will be far reaching.

Please use the information and resources provided here to aid in your decision-making. Consider all of the candidates, consider all of the topics that matter to you, and cast your vote by Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at noon Eastern Standard Time.

Those who preregistered to cast their vote online will receive an email at the end of February. The email will be from “sierraclub.mg.electionservicescorp.com” and will contain a link to the e-voting site along with your personal login information. Please check your spam folder if the email has not arrived by the first week of March.

All other voters will receive a paper ballot in the mail this March. The envelope will be marked with “2026 Sierra Club Board of Directors Election.” Please note: The paper ballots are sent out in batches from the East Coast, so voting members will receive them at different times throughout the month.

E-votes and paper ballots must be received by 12 p.m. EST on April 29, 2026.

If you received a paper ballot but would like to vote online, you can use the registration numbers you received in the mail to log in to the e-voting site. If you vote online, please do not also send in your paper ballot.

If you have not received your ballot by March 31 or need to request a replacement ballot, please contact Sierra Club’s Member Care team at 415-977-5653 or member.care@sierraclub.org.

To request a replacement ballot, or receive assistance to vote online, contact Election Services customer service at 1-866-720-4357 or sierraclub@electionservicescorp.com.

The deadline to request a replacement paper ballot is April 8 at 12 p.m. EST.
