Help Wanted |

We need your help to guide and support us through the next year. We have a dedicated group of volunteers that continues to work on essential elements of our mission, but some are ready for "retirement." We need new volunteers to fill positions, and new ideas if our group is to survive and thrive as we adapt to new challenges and possibilities. If you're interested in taking part, in becoming more involved in the activities promoted by this group, please contact us via one of the email addresses on our Contact page, or by private message on Facebook. Weed Out! Racine: Help Remove Invasive Plants |
Invasive Garlic Mustard
Invasive species are choking out the native plants in many of our parks, nature preserves, and even our backyards. Weed Out! Racine is a volunteer program that aims to maintain the biodiversity of our public spaces and native areas by stopping the spread of invasive species. We work with Weed Out! Racine at Colonial Park and at Pringle Nature Center in Kenosha. Work days are on the fourth Saturday morning from March through October. Check the calendar below for specific dates, times, and locations. Bring your own sturdy pruning loppers, saws and gloves if you have them and help preserve southeastern Wisconsin's native plants. |
Highway 38 Clean-up: Help Remove Litter from Our Highways |
SEGG cleans up part of Highway 38 in Racine as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program. Clean-ups are 2 hours on a Saturday morning and are followed by an optional potluck lunch. Check the calendar below to find out when the next clean-up is and where to meet. |
