Make Your Home More Sustainable Using Community Resources

Homeowners will learn about community resources to help them make their homes more sustainable by improving energy efficiency, storm drainage, etc.

The presenters are Elizabeth Hittman, senior manager of Illinois Solar for All at Elevate; Jay Feiker, a project manager in MMSD’s sustainability department; and Mike Arney, a Wauwatosa Sustainability Committee member and Citizens' Climate Lobby activist.

Elizabeth will provide resources and information on solar energy for homeowners in Wisconsin.

Jay will discuss different ways to manage the water that falls on your property to protect both your home and the environment. He will share the various resources MMSD has to offer Milwaukee area residents including educational workshops, the rain barrel/rain garden programs, and tools available to help manage water.


Mike will relate his experience reducing his carbon footprint and eventually eliminating fossil fuels from his family's home.
