Join the Great Waters Group for a free showing of Wild and Scenic Rivers: An American Legacy, our January program.
Host Tim Palmer, an author and photographer, chronicles the federal Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. Since its passage in 1968, this act has extended protection to more than 300 rivers across the United States, three of them in Wisconsin. Palmer details several against-all-odds situations in which the act was deployed to save rivers from dam construction, thereby protecting wildlife and preserving these spaces for future generations to enjoy.
The video is 40 minutes and will be followed by a discussion. Join us and learn more about what the Sierra Club is doing!
