Our whitewater rafting camping trip in Leavenworth was amazing! I believed that our trip was really well planned out and was highly successful! Some of the things that I especially enjoyed about our trip was the relaxed, safe, and fun atmosphere that ICO provided! I loved how we were given a lot freedom and trust, which came with a lot more responsibility. I enjoyed being given the opportunity to explain and even play some of the games that we, as EYES leaders taught, practiced and lead on some of our trips with the youth. I enjoyed all of the love and laughter that we shared. Overall, I believe that things ran extremely smoothly, making this a very enjoyable and memorable experience.
EYES is Seattle ICO’s program for developing leadership skills in some of the ICO teen youth. Once they receive training in outdoor trip management, situational awareness, and first aid, we pair them with adult leaders on ICO trips with younger participants. EYES program application is open to any high school student with prior ICO experience.
