On September 21, 2022, the Sierra Club York River Group held its third online roundtable meeting on climate solutions. Sustainability managers and representatives from six Peninsula localities provided updates on their existing and proposed programs working toward the goal of clean energy.
Opening and closing remarks were provided by Shelly Simonds (Virginia House of Delegates) and Eileen Woll (Offshore Energy Program Director for the VA Chapter Sierra Club).

This annual roundtable is valuable from many angles. It not only gives Sierra Club members a summary of the environmental progress being made in our local communities, it also gives the roundtable participants an opportunity to share ideas with each other. We feel encouraged with the progress shown, but recognize that even more needs to happen to meet the huge challenge of reducing fossil fuels by 50% by the year 2030.
