The Sierra Club hosted a talk with Gus Speth, a distinguished figure of the modern environmental movement. Gus was a founder of the Natural Resources Defense Council and the World Resources Institute, a top environmental advisor to Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, and dean of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies; he became a professor at Vermont Law School and lives in Strafford. Gus has insightful and provocative thoughts about the continuing struggle for a safe climate and the need for a structural overhaul of our society if we are to meet our global climate responsibilities.
