States around the northeast consider tapping into so-called clean power from Canada, and the construction of massive transmission infrastructure to make that work. Vermont policy guarantees incentives for this power even though it means transferring many millions of dollars out of our state every year. But is this power truly clean, carbon-neutral, or renewable? How is this affecting the ecology and local communities?
