Are you Electrified in your ride yet?

We have made a lot of progress advancing clean transportation options in Vermont, however, we are still far short of replacing all internal combustion engine vehicles with electric vehicles. The Vermont Sierra Club will be involved in two great events in August and September promoting electric vehicles.

First, is the Waterbury Leap Electric Vehicle show at Crosset Brook Middle School on Aug 14,(See details below), and the other will be the Burlington Electric Department's Net Zero Energy Fair on Saturday, Sep 21 in Burlington. Also, note National Drive Electric Week is Sept 27 - Oct 6 so please look out for other events throughout Vermont. If you are curious to see a few vehicles shown by their owners come to one of these events.

Excitingly, Vermont is about to achieve the target of 15% of new vehicles being electric, however, that does mean that 85% of car sales will be still polluting the air and adding to carbon emissions for the next decade, so it's even more important for you to make that transition now rather than later. Come out and check out some EVs and get electrified.

If you attend one of these events we will give you a free canvas bag with the Flight Climate Change Image.

The Waterbury LEAP Electric Vehicle Fest

A few Sierra Club volunteers will be at the Waterbury LEAP Electric Vehicle Fest  on Wednesday, August 14 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the Crossett Brook Middle School in Duxbury (5672 VT-100, Duxbury, VT).

This free community event includes:
1) Up to 20 electric vehicles and EV hybrids on display
2) The opportunity to talk with experts and owners about EVs
3) Information about incentives, tax credits, charging, operating costs, vehicle ranges, etc
4) Information and displays of electric yard tools, ebikes, and more!

Dave Roberts from Drive Electric Vermont will speak at the event and give attendees an update on the latest EVs, developments in charging infrastructure in Vermont, incentives, and more.

Choosing an electric car is a great way to significantly shrink your fuel and maintenance costs, reduce environmental impact, and find a vehicle that's fun to drive. Brought to you by the volunteers of Waterbury LEAP.

For more information contact Alayna at alaynahoward@gmail.com or visit waterburyleap.org.  No RSVP required. This event will be held outside, rain or shine.
