Tell Vermont to clean up its dirty cars, trucks, and buses

Vermont’s transportation sector is the largest source of climate-disrupting and toxic pollution. Many of these pollutants contribute to rising global temperatures and are linked to asthma, cancer, and even premature death -- health burdens that fall most heavily on disadvantaged communities, as they are usually closest to highways and high-traffic corridors.

Tell Vermont to clean up its dirty cars, trucks, and buses

The time to act is now! Sierra Club is activating our grassroots supporters to tell Governor Scott that Vermont should move forward this year to adopt the Advanced Clean Cars II, Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) rule, and Heavy Duty Omnibus (HDO) rules.

These rules will phase out dirty fossil fuel vehicles by requiring manufacturers to sell an increasing percentage of electric vehicles to consumers in our states. For light-duty cars, this means that all new sales of vehicles will be 100% electric by 2035. For medium and heavy duty trucks and buses, this means that 40 - 75% of new trucks and buses sold must be electric, and Nitrogen Oxide emissions must be reduced 90% by 2027.

Make your voice heard to ensure that these rules are adopted to save lives.
