Sierra Club Utah Chapter Announces Endorsements for 2024 Election
The Sierra Club Utah Chapter has announced its endorsements for State House, State Senate, City Council, and Attorney General for Utah’s 2024 election.
“We’re thrilled to announce our endorsed candidates for the 2024 election cycle,” said Franque Bains, Director of the Sierra Club in Utah. “As we face the challenges of the climate crisis, it’s critical to support leaders who are committed to reducing climate pollution and advancing equity and justice. We must ensure that all Utahns have access to clean air, clean water, safe neighborhoods, and the natural spaces we all cherish. We believe that these candidates are ready to champion these issues.”
According to Naresh Kumar, Chair of the Sierra Club Utah Political Committee, the initial list of endorsed candidates has been selected through questionnaires and interviews, and it will likely grow as the PAC continues to identify candidates committed to improving Utah's environmental outcomes.
“We are dedicated to supporting candidates who will champion principled positions on environmental and social issues that matter most to Sierra Club members and supporters,” said Naresh Kumar. “We are grateful for candidates who are ready to make the changes we've been fighting for and we're humbled by those who are willing to hear our voices and change their minds for the good of their constituency. We stand by your contributions to these issues—past, present, and future.”
