It is time to jump-start the Outings program in Southern Nevada! The COVID restrictions and medical reporting requirements that the Sierra Club instituted during the pandemic have been greatly eased, and the paperwork burden on Outings leaders is much reduced! The other groups in our Chapter are successfully relaunching their Outings and we would like to do so as well.

But we will need more Outings Leaders! I have volunteered to be part of a team to help get regular outings started, but I will need help. I can help you renew your Outdoors Leadership Training if needed (it can be done online), and remember that all training is free of charge! We also provide Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification for our Outings leaders at no cost to you (a $50 value). If you love the many outdoor recreation opportunities available in Southern Nevada, why not share your knowledge with fellow Sierra Club members and others who enjoy the outdoors?

We will be holding an organizational meeting for Southern Nevada Outings Leaders via Zoom on Wednesday, February 1st, 6:00 - 7:00pm. We will discuss future trainings, current leader requirements, and potential outings. Even if you are not sure you want to be an Outings leader, there may be ways you can help.
