We need elected officials who will introduce and pass policies that will make a difference here in Nevada. The first step is to elect those environmental champions, and we all can agree that few things are more important than the elections in November. Our Sierra Club Nevada Political Action Committee supports endorsed local and state candidates; we are working now to endorse our champions and identify the most critical races in Nevada. We need increased political and financial power to preserve our valuable public lands and wildlife habitat, as well as to mitigate the effects of climate change in a just and equitable manner throughout our region. Please join us!
We will be having a special campaign kick-off event on Sunday, March 24th from 4 to 6pm in a beautiful outdoor setting in northwest Las Vegas. Featured speakers will include former Nevada state legislator and Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani as well as Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones. We will also feature a silent auction, and there will be plenty of time to share a glass of wine and some light refreshments with friends and fellow political activists. A number of candidates for local office have been invited, please come and ask them how they can help ensure a more sustainable future for Nevada.
