Dear Friend,
We're half way through the second month of 2023 and we have water front and center. We're looking for volunteers to help test PFAS in our water, and we're sharing details on Reno's proposed stormwater program. Las Vegas Inspiring Connections Outdoors is ready to get the youth of Las Vegas "back out there," and we're keeping an eye on Clark County's All-In plan. Southern Nevada Group volunteers are needed for outings and fundraising, Tahoe Area Group is busting myths and watching proposed development plans, and Range of Light Group is sharing their 30x30 priorities. None of this would be possible without the support from all of you, our members and supporters. Thank you for your membership, your donations, volunteering your time, and allowing us to do all we do.

Read LVICO Outings Chair, Cynthia Regidor's report on a recent trip to Valley of Fire. [Read more...] |

Reno ICO's First Trip: High Schoolers Snowshoe to Donner Lake

Growing out of a partnership with the Washoe County School District (WCSD) and California State Parks, ICO led our first trip on January 28, 2023! Thirteen students and five teachers, along with four ICO volunteers and a California State Parks Ranger hiked through the snow from the Donner Memorial State Park Visitor Center to the shore of Donner Lake. None of the students in the predominantly hispanic youth group had ever snowshoed before. [ Read more...] |

Clark County's All-In Plan

Last month, several Sierra Club supporters filed comments on Clark County’s All-In Plan. While this ambitious plan is a step in the right direction to coordinate holistic efforts to reduce emissions in Clark County, more work is needed to ensure that all opportunities are accounted for and included to address climate change.
