Reno Inspiring Connections Outdoors (Reno ICO) is your local Sierra Club group that provides outdoor adventures and experiences to youth and young adults in Reno and Northern Nevada. ICO promotes individual growth and facilitates transformative experiences through snowshoeing, backpacking, hiking, rafting and other activities, focusing on environmental and outdoor skills education and leadership development.
ICO provides equitable access to the natural world so that all young people in our community appreciate and care about our natural environment.
We will be holding our ICO Retreat and Outdoor Leadership Training over the weekend of March 3-5, 2023 at the beautiful and historic Sierra Club Clair Tappan Lodge. This is an opportunity to engage in the Sierra Club’s Outdoor Leadership Training with a focus on getting young people outside. Learn how to facilitate safe and engaging youth backpacking and snowshoeing trips as we hang out, eat, play, hike, and sing around the campfire, and even go snowshoeing!
Food, lodging, training, and fun are free! (Donations are encouraged.) All participants are expected to attend two ICO trips in 2023.
We would love to have a few experienced backpackers, hikers, and snowshoers, but also welcome beginners - no experience necessary!
Donate to Reno Inspiring Connections Outdoors and help provide safe and life-altering wilderness adventures for young people. Your donation (100% of it!) supports clothing, equipment, food, transportation, and the volunteers and leaders that make this happen.
