The Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter has endorsed candidates that have shown the commitment to our core issues: protecting public lands, wildlife and their habitats; 100% renewable energy, protecting Nevada's water law, better infrastructure for electric vehicles and mass transit; and walkable, healthier, climate-resilient communities. Our state legislature, county commissioners, and city councils will make decisions that impact peoples’ everyday lives. We strongly believe they will be allies to us in the future. We will continue to update our endorsements throughout the election cycle.
4 Things You Can Do to Elect Sierra Club Endorsed Champions:
1. Share this blog with your friends.
Amplify our power for environmental votes by sharing this email with your friends and family. The good news about primaries: not as many people vote, so every vote we can muster for our champions means even more!
2. Volunteer to elect champions
There are lots of ways you can help — sharing content, and canvassing, calling, or texting for our champions. Training starts in early June and up through Election Day November 8, 2022. Work as many hours as fits your schedule. If you are interested, contact Teresa Bell at toiyabe.volunteer@sierraclub.org.
3. Vote for all Sierra Club-endorsed champions.
The Toiyabe Chapter's all-local, all-volunteer Political Committee spends a lot of time researching and debating before endorsing our champion candidates. This list will be updated after the primaries. Come back to learn more for the general election.
4. Donate to help us elect champions.
All of this work takes money to pay for the tools we use, and the lists we need to buy to contact voters. All money donated will stay here in Nevada to elect Sierra Club's endorsed champions in Nevada.
The Sierra Club will be going local to elect climate champions at every level -- not just the top of the ballot. But we need your help to make it happen!
