Michael Brune Visits Nevada!

A perfect storm of energy and enthusiasm visited Nevada June 18. Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune came to Nevada to share his enthusiasm for Nevada's growing power as an leader on environmental issues. The Toiyabe Chapter Political Committee announced our slate of endorsements for November. And the Sierra Club Nevada PAC raised money to elect environmental champions in November.

More than 100 activists in Reno, and nearly that in Las Vegas, came together to celebrate with Mike. Thanks to everyone who joined us in Reno, Las Vegas and on Facebook live, to be part of the solution.

Candidates at Sierra Club event 061818

Could this be the year of the woman? As this picture suggests, Nevada has a strong chance to become the first state with
the first female majority in the country. Standing left to right: Washoe County Assessor candidate Chip Evans (D), Assemblywoman
Jill Tolles (R - AD 25), candidate Autumn Zemke
(D - AD 40) with her daughter, candidate Wendy Boszak (D - AD 14), Mike Brune,
candidate Paula Povalaitis (D - AD 32), candidate Clint Koble (D - CD 2), candidate  June Joseph (D - AD 26), and candidate Lindsy Judd (NP - Washoe Coujnty Ward 5).

Kneeling in front, left to right: candidate Tina Davis-Hersey (D - SD 16), candidate Patricia Ackerman (D - AD 39), and newly elected Assemblywoman Sarah Peters (D - AD 24) with her daughter.

Note, not all the above candidates have been endorsed by the Sierra Club. Unfortunately, federal election law makes it really expensive for us to share a list of our endorsed candidates, or support any candidates, in this space. To learn more, got to our Toiyabe Chapter Web Page, and follow the links to 2018 elections in the blue menu bar at top.
