Brian Beffort is the new, full-time Toiyabe Chapter Director and a welcome addition to our force of dedicated volunteers. The Chapter will introduce Brian to activists and members in the weeks ahead to help welcome him to his new position.
Brian comes to this position with outstanding credentials. A native Nevadan, Brian knows the geography of the state as well as any person. He is the author of Afoot and Afield: Las Vegas and Southern Nevada: A Comprehensive Hiking Guide which details how to enjoy all the outdoor wonders around the metropolitan area of Las Vegas on foot. Brian brings conservation expertise and experience as a journalist for many years to the job. Also, as a project management director during many years with the Friends of Nevada Wilderness and the Great Basin Institute, Brian brings years of expertise in environmental work.
Brian lives in Reno with his wife, son, and dog. When not at work, Brian enjoys several pursuits including photography, backpacking, skiing, camping, and simply hiking around to enjoy our beautiful public lands.
