The recently adopted GOP platform has adopted a plank to give away your public land heritage - our national forests, wildlife refuges, and public lands. Our heritage will likely be sold to the highest bidder in what appears to be a take over of our public lands financed largely by some wealthy individuals at the state and national levels. 
You can take action at the National Wildlife Federation website action alert "Now is the Time to Show Support for Our Public Lands". Do it today and keep public lands public – for everyone.
