Please join us in welcoming the newest member of the Sierra Club Lone Star Chapter team, Jordan Goodrich. As Chapter Communications Manager, Jordan will be responsible for developing and implementing the Chapter’s communication strategies to advance our mission and achieve campaign goals, as well as the daily management of our digital platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn). She will collaborate with the Lone Star Chapter team and volunteer leaders to tell stories that showcase our work, our communities, and the people’s power to enact change in Texas.
Jordan was born and raised in Texas, and believes deeply in the people of her home state. “Texans love Texas,” she says, “and they want to protect it.” After working with animals in rehabilitation and education settings for many years, Jordan felt called to pursue a career in the environmental sector to help ensure a future for the wildlife and wild places she loves. “I have two daughters, and I want them to grow up playing in creeks and running through fields of wildflowers like I did. My favorite memories are of the time I spent outside as a child. They, and all children, deserve places to play free of toxic pollution with clean air to breathe.”
Jordan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in psychology and a minor in social work. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work at Baylor University with a focus on community practice. Since joining the nonprofit space, Jordan has worked for EarthShare Texas as a marketing and program manager, and helped found the Green Workforce Collaborative, a coalition of nonprofits committed to creating a sustainable and equitable green workforce in Texas. Jordan centers service, community, and equity in all of her professional endeavors, and we are looking forward to working alongside her.
