Our conservation director and interim director Cyrus Reed will be participating on a panel at the Texas Energy Summit on November 10, titled “Policies to Promote Smart, Healthy, Resilient, Emission Free Buildings.” Come on folks, we can make all new buildings carbon-free by 2030 if we start now!
Now in its 17th year, the Summit explores the intersection of energy systems, emissions reductions, and economic development. It will be online Nov. 10-12 and 17-18 with plenary and breakout sessions between 2:00-4:00CT each day. You can see the full program here. Public and non-profit employees can attend for no charge with a scholarship. All can register here. If you don’t fit the free scholarship category, and can’t afford the full costs, there are one-day passes available as well as other opportunities for free registrations since Sierra Club is a sponsor of the event.
The Summit involves participants in identifying opportunities for cleaner air and sustainable energy solutions, and identifies promising policies to help our state seize those opportunities. It's an event meant to help create a vision for reducing emissions and building a clean energy economy. You’re invited to make plans to join us at the Texas Energy Summit!

- Cyrus Reed, Sierra Club
- Jason Vanderveer South-central
