Register Today! A Seat at the Table: How to Engage in Houston-Area Flood Mitigation

We are excited to support our friends at Texas Living Waters' upcoming workshop, “A Seat at the Table: How to engage in Houston-area flood mitigation,” taking place next Wednesday, August 5th from 11:30 am -1:00 pm!

This workshop is hosted by the National Wildlife Federation, Bayou City Waterkeeper, Sierra Club's Lone Star Chapter, and Galveston Bay Foundation and will focus specifically on engaging with upcoming flood mitigation projects in the Houston area. They will discuss federal and state flood mitigation funding opportunities with the goal of providing participants with the tools necessary to meaningfully comment on where and how these funds are spent.

Speakers include: Dr. Earthea Nance, Associate Professor at Texas Southern University, Danielle Goshen, Water Policy and Outreach Specialist at the Galveston Bay Foundation, and Amy Reed and Stephanie Oehler with the Environmental Law Institute.

All levels of experience with public comment and advocacy are welcomed. (While this workshop is geared towards developing fundamental skills of providing public comments, future workshops may dive deeper into specific techniques and themes.)
