We'd like to introduce you to the Lone Star Chapter's newest intern, Shaneal Harun! (They/them/theirs)
Shaneal doesn't have many pictures of themself, but offered up this awesome image!
Shaneal is an intern on the Lone Star Chapter’s new Democracy & Clean Energy program. Their work will focus on research into civic engagement in public utilities and energy decision-making in San Antonio, with an emphasis on supporting community organizing for clean energy and a just transition. Shaneal graduated from UT Austin with a double major in Government and African & African Diaspora Studies, where they were involved in student activism, housing cooperatives, and the debate team. Community and friendship is very important to them. When they're not at work, Shaneal enjoys playing games with friends, exploring urban space, and going to punk shows.
We're super excited to have them on board and are so excited to see how their work influences our new democracy program. Welcome to the team, Shaneal!
