The Sierra Club Lone Star Chapter is proud to welcome Brittney VanCuran to our team as the newest Environmental Communications Intern!
Brittney VanCuran is a fourth-year Sustainability Studies student at the University of Texas at Austin. Brittney’s passion lies in issues of environmental justice and how sustainable initiatives can be deployed in equitable ways. These interests drove her involvement in research into how communities impacted by environmental injustices receive aid. Additionally, she recognizes the importance of intercultural communication, having spent time studying abroad throughout Ecuador. Her love of traveling is often complimented by her love of natural spaces, fueling her desire to see the earth’s most precious places.
Brittney’s academic career has also allowed her to participate in research conducted on the relationship between consumers and their perception of sustainable messages. Through her internship at the Lone Star Chapter, she hopes to bring valuable insight to the communications team, drawing on her academic career and passion for environmental stewardship and justice to help create meaningful change for Texans across the state.
