The Sierra Club's Lone Star Chapter welcomes our newest communications intern, Katie Aplis!
Katie will be writing original content for our website, supporting our social media platforms, and helping with media monitoring, among other duties.
Here's a little bit about Katie:
Katie Aplis is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin and working towards her environmental science major and a public policy minor. She is doing her capstone research project on environmental justice in Texas, which has fuelled her interest in the intersection of climate change with community dynamics.
This past summer, Katie studied abroad in Botswana, Africa to study climate change, ecosystems, and human interactions.
Katie enjoys hiking, biking, dancing, and hummus. Upon graduation Katie hopes to pursue a career in the National Parks Service and is excited to be working with the Sierra Club this semester.
We're happy to have Katie be a part of Team Texas!
