Ruth is currently studying Geography at University College London but has had the fortunate opportunity to study at University of Texas at Austin for the current academic year. Her undergraduate degree focuses mainly on anthropogenic environmental change and the impacts this has on the Earth, with her dissertation project examining the safest places to undergo urban agriculture within London. Once she completes her degree, Ruth plans to further study sustainable urban design with the ultimate aim of being able to address the series of challenges cities are currently facing and will face in the future. In her spare time, Ruth enjoys finding vegetarian food in Texas and handling whatever America throws at her.

Carolyn Harper

Carolyn Harper

Carolyn Harper is a graduate student at St. Edward’s University in Environmental Management and Sustainability. A trip to a sea turtle refuge in the Florida Keys during her undergrad sparked an interest in and passion for environmental stewardship. This passion was further ignited during a study abroad trip to Costa Rica, where Carolyn studied the intersection of biodiversity, sustainability and people. Carolyn earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and a minor in French from Missouri University of Science and Technology. When she is not learning about environmental causes, Carolyn enjoys baking homemade treats, reading the works of Jane Austen and frequenting local cafes with friends. She hopes to one day inspire and teach others to take care of the world as it has taken care of them.
