Beyond Coal Campaign Seeks Tennessee Rep

The Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign is hiring a Campaign Representative to lead a multidisciplinary team in Tennessee. Duties include developing and implementing a campaign that achieves Sierra Club’s vision for climate and environmental justice, in coordination with volunteers, partner groups and community leaders. Help us work to clean the nation’s electric grid by 2030!

The Campaign Representative will be responsible for developing and managing activities to retire coal-fired power plants, scale clean energy growth, prevent new gas power plants, and end destructive coal mining in Tennessee.

We are seeking a person with demonstrated experience planning and implementing winning advocacy campaigns; a commitment to and passion for creating an inclusive team culture; and that can build a robust strategy to support an equitable clean energy economy for the Tennessee Valley.

The job description, qualifications, and application form are linked here.

The Debunking Handbook

In November 2011, the The Debunking Handbook was published. As the updated notice on that page already shows, more research has come in since then and the time has finally come for a complete overhaul of this very popular handbook, which gets downloaded a couple of thousand times in most months! The two authors of the original handbook, Stephan Lewandowsky and John Cook, got in touch with other researchers to find who was interested in looking into ways to best counter misinformation, and 20 of them signed up as co-authors. The result of their work can now be downloaded as The Debunking Handbook 2020.
