Isobel Whitcomb is a science and environmental journalist based in Portland, Oregon, a contributing writer to Sierra, and a former Sierra editorial fellow. Their work covering ecology, conservation, and health has also appeared in Hakai Magazine, Scientific American, Slate, and The New York Times, among other publications. Whitcomb's stories for Sierra were selected for inclusion in The Best American Science and Nature Writing two years in a row (2022 and 2023).
