Earth Day Cleanup at MLK Shoreline

National Park Service and John Muir Association Birthday – Earth Day Bash

Join the National Park Service and the John Muir Association in celebrating John Muir’s 185th birthday and Earth Day, during their annual Birthday – Earth Day Celebration event. The celebration features family-oriented activities, food, live music, and exhibits by national parks and local environmental organizations. Visitors can enjoy self-guided tours of Muir’s historic Italianate Victorian home where he wrote about protecting nature, learn about Muir’s wilderness adventures, or participate in a silent auction. When is an electrical panel upgrade necessary? What about rebates and tax credits? To answer those questions, specialists in home electrification and representatives of local public agencies will offer a free Home Electrification Fair to share reliable information for Bay Area homeowners and renters thinking about transitioning from gas to electric. Ansel Adams in Our Time Exhibit

In addition to being a master photographer, Ansel Adams was a Sierra Club leader and activist whose photography helped advance the conservation movement. "Ansel Adams in Our Time" at the de Young Museum presents more than 100 works from this self-described “California photographer” and places him in dialogue with 23 contemporary artists who are engaging anew with the landscapes and environmental issues that inspired Adams. Youth Vs. Apocalypse Climate March

Wildflowers Hike on San Bruno Mountain

Come to view the wildflowers on San Bruno Mountain with Sierra Singles. This is a 10-12 mile hike with about 1900' of elevation gain depending on the trail closures. Bring plenty of water, snacks and lunch. Dress for the possible windy and foggy weather. Sturdy boots and poles are recommended for some rocky and steep trails. Meet by Crocker Gate Trailhead.
