Hiking each segment of the BBT trail has morphed into a tale of 8 little characters. Each segment seems to have its own cast and the star of Part 6 was…COOL. Overhead all day hung a marine layer of clouds. Of course, for us supporting cast members it was great because COOL is just what a 2500 feet 7.5 mi hike needs.

Other roles played their parts. Always a pleasure to have wildflowers in the script and once again mariposa lily showed up for scenes. A surprise cameo performance was given by baby snake this time! Fun to see but the rest of us made sure to stay out of the spotlight during that time.

Gourmet catering is not part of the show, but turns out specialty foods are indeed on the menu! We learned that yucca blooms, plentiful at the moment and readily available on the trail, are edible. Must be true because of our group demonstrated and she is still with us!
